It's been a week since discovering that people tweak and supe-up lawnmowers and race them. It's an intriguing hobby to me and it was really fun to watch. Lindsey and I drove to Elgin (about half an hour away) last Sunday to go watch the Grass Hogs in action. It was well worth the drive and the $5!
Here's the photos! If you ever get a chance to see lawnmower races, do it!
The first three pictures show the modified lawn mower class. They lean out of their mower in the turns in order not to tip over. The next couple of pictures are the super-modified class. They drive more like a go-cart and are lower with different tires. I was very glad they all wore helmets and some wore padding as well.
The kids class, which I don't have pictures of, are only allowed a speed of 13 mph, which seemed slow compared to the adults, who were side skidding around the corners in the super-modified class.

Oh the things we Canucks will do for entertainment! It does look fun though :)
